Instructions

  1. Prepare the Puff Pastry 
    1. If the puff pastry is frozen, remove it from the freezer and let it rest for 10–15 minutes until soft and easy to cut. 
    2. Place the puff pastry on a flat surface lightly dusted with flour. 
  2. Cut and Fill 
    1. Cut the puff pastry into 12 small pieces (rectangular shapes adjusted to the size of the cocktail sausages). 
    2. Place 1 sausage on each piece of puff pastry. 
    3. Add cheddar cheese to taste on top of or beside the sausage. 
  3. Roll 
    1. Roll the puff pastry tightly to wrap the sausage and cheese. 
    2. Make sure the seam is placed underneath to prevent it from opening during baking. 
  4. Egg Wash & Topping 
    1. Arrange the rolls on a baking tray lined with baking paper. 
    2. Brush the surface with egg yolk to give a shiny, golden finish after baking. 
    3. Sprinkle oregano evenly on top for added aroma and flavor. 
  5. Bake 
    1. Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (375°F) using top and bottom heat for 20–25 minutes, or until the puff pastry is fully risen and golden brown. 
  6. Serve 
    1. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. 
    2. Serve warm so the cheese stays melted and the puff pastry remains crispy.
