Ingredients

  • 200 g liquid milk
  • 30 g unsalted butter
  • 2 g salt
  • 1 egg
  • 70 g granulated sugar
  • 5 g vanilla essence
  • 140 g rice flour
  • 20 g tapioca flour
  • 15 g cocoa powder

Instructions

1. Heat the Liquid Ingredients

  • Add the milk, unsalted butter, salt, and granulated sugar into a saucepan.
  • Heat until warm; do not let it boil.
  • Turn off the heat and let it cool slightly.

2. Prepare the Batter

  • In a mixing bowl, lightly beat the egg and sugar until combined.
  • Pour in the warm milk mixture (make sure it is not too hot to avoid cooking the egg).
  • Mix well.

3. Mix the Dry Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, combine:
    • rice flour
    • tapioca flour
    • cocoa powder
  • Mix well and sift to remove any lumps.

4. Strain the Batter

  • Strain the batter into another bowl to achieve a completely smooth texture.

5. Bake

  • Pour the batter into a butter-greased baking pan.
  • Sprinkle Innova Choco Chips on top.
  • Bake at 170–180°C for about 30 minutes until the top rises and develops beautiful cracks on the surface.

6. Cool Down

  • Once baked, let it cool for about 15–20 minutes.
  • The buttertteok will become chewier as it cools
